Starting a Worm Farm

I do the rubbermaid container farm. (close to the set up stated above) I add raw veggie cooking scraps. NOTE: Red worms reproduce faster then their big earthworm cousins. I have to keep mine indoors (Michigan winters) The refrigerator farm is funny. I think Dr. Joe is also a Mod on MWK. (Monster Worm Keepers)

I want it to be but I wouldnt know where to find them around here and I have looked online but I cannot find a distributor.
I raise red worms in a small rubbermaid tote, that is 12 in x 12 in x 9 in, indoors. I have 2 holes, one on each side, near the top. It started out as an experiment for a college biology class, but I was producing enough worms to allow me to fish all summer and all I add is 2 liters of water every month and vegetable peels. The soil appears to be to acidic for night crawlers, they die within a week of putting them in it.

Lime would sweeten the soil, and lower the acidic conditions.
