So I sold some fish today and I'm in the process of cleaning up this tank -removed all the old substrate, probably redoing the background "painting it black".

However I cant decide what to keep next. I'd like to try something new (definitely not a planted scenario again).

Mainly I'm torn between keeping a single solo fish or perhaps a colony of something to have them breed.

I am also playing with the idea of maybe getting a pumpkinseed or bluegill but I'm not sure 8f the tank would be suitable.

Any suggestions? :)

You can’t go wrong with catfish. Perhaps a gulper catfish.

Those look neat but I think I'd like something a little more active or interactive, especially if going the solo route.

I was looking at those after your suggestion and I was surprised to see they dont need a monster tank to keep them, very cool. :)

You could probably get a colony of Neolamprologus brichardi if you higher ph and harder water.

Dozen high grade koi angels, grow them out, might make some money after pairs form, also highly interactive.

*Might require a 20H for the breeding pair.

What are the dimensions of the 60 gallon? I’m not familiar with that size so I don’t know off the top of my head. If the dimensions are right then you could do a Flowerhorns and they’re interactive.

I was wondering if a short body would be good for a setup like this. That's definitely something I'd seriously consider.

My 60g is :
48 3/8 long
12 7/8 deep
23 7/8 high

Hey Magnus_Bane Magnus_Bane and Ruturaj Ruturaj what do you think about a short body Flowerhorns in this tank?

A 6-8 inch fish would be alright in it. Ideally I like the 18 inches width tanks (give fish 2x length as turning space). I am not a fan of shortbody flowerhorns, many have issues but it depends on what OP likes.
