good call, all you can do is keep experimenting, ha piranhas are like college...

Well......... I keep trying to force a different thought process, but people just don't want to listen. No need to change the diet. You can get amazing coloration, healthy fish, and absolutely amazing water quality with a single all natural product.
Calcium Montmorillonite

Good luck with whatever you decide.

If all else fails try using a little garlic juce, this sometimes helps getting them started on new foods. Once they start eating the pellets stop using the juice.

When I first got my rbp he would't eat in front of me. I went to my lfs and they told me to use Garlic Extreme. I put some on a shrimp and he ate it right away. I don't know why, but they like garlic. I quit using it after a week because I didn't want him hooked on the flavor. (Garlic Extreme is expensive) I never used it on pellets but if you really want your p's to eat them then I say give it a try. Garlic Guard is cheeper than Garlic Extreme, or if you have a clove of garlic in the kitchen smash it up and roll some pellets in it and give that a try.

Put a powerhead in your tank to give your fish plenty of exercise. An active fish is a hungry fish. Also, like the other guys said, be patient and don't give in. They won't starve themselves to death-unless maybe they're activist piranha (pygocentrus activitus), and they're willing to die for their cause.
sheesh!

Hey guys quick question.

Getting some P's soon and I was planning on feeding them smelt and shrimp, etc.

But they do good on pellets so why not try it.

After I acclimate them and add them to the tank, should i just try and feed them pellets and nothing else?
I dont know what there current diet is.
