i was wondering i have a 400 gal tank (cylindrical water tank-4ft hieght, 4 1/2 ft circumference.) would i be able to house a silver aro in that tank

ok heres my stock(400gal):
14 inch RB pacu
3 albino oscars (8,9,11 inch)
3 tiger oscars (6,12,13inch)
3 SA cichlids approx. 3-4 inch
1 6inch leporinus
1 5-6 inch red hook tin9foil barb
2 spotty catfish (3-4 inch)
2 fully grown cascadura (6 inch)
3 baby common pleco (i put 3 in but never saw them since :/ ?)

please note that i am willing to get rid of basically any fish (all i really want is 1tiger O , 1 albino O and if possible my pacu) growout tank may be used but will be small(30-40 gal)

No, your tank is not long enough, you have the width. Aro tanks need length & width, height is least important, Aros spend 90 percent of their time on top. Silvers get 3+ feet long, they need to swim end to end and have plenty of room to make their turns. You do not want them backing up/ going backwards too much. This will seriously effect their soft tissue gills to curl out and lead to a very unhealthy Aro.

1 silver (23") 5 blacks(14-20") in a 100g along with a watermelon and cactus pleco, shovelnose and 3 pin orantus catfish . aros been in since they were about 12-14 inches(about 3 years). was running a resun canister rated for a 150 then switched to running an fx5 with uv. feeding them azoo aro sticks and dried shrimp.

they're in pretty good shape. just sold one of the 18"blacks yesterday. i might have thrown off the hierarchy because now they seem to be more fussy. just dumped the fx5 too after it leaked about 25 gal onto the floor. crappy design of the o-ring and motor. luckily it happened when i was home. :irked:

I have 7 silvers and want to get rid of two of the smaller ones. I was wondering how much my hierarchy would be effected when I did. They all get along great right now. I figured it would freak them out until they re-established their heirarchy. How much did you get for your black?

I just started raising aros yesterday after a few months of researching and wondering if i should get one.

Its roughly 1 ft long and i have it in a 55g. Waiting for winter to end then ill but him in my dads 250g which is housing his kois right now.
