Stealing rocks/driftwood from a national park...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just heard a storie of a teacher colecting stuff for about an hour and when she was done, the rangers who sat and watched her with binoculars drove down the mountain to her and made her place it all back, where she found it,huge fine too.thought that was kinda funny.

Like the Central Park Rangers from the ELF movie! "Highly trained & rarely see action, but known for their Gestapo-like tactics at the Simon & Garfunkel Riot of '84."

well here is an easy solution for you

find who the property owners are after the border of the park where the river still runs and ask them can I take some stuff pretty sure they be casual about it.

I would have to side with those who say do not disturb imagine if every tourist there took just a bit of this a bit of that, in a year that is a lot of people, in ten years that is insane, in 25 years etc....

In reality though I highly doubt a lot of fish keepers are going to do that.

Just make sure your conscience is clear to follow your actions.

wulfonce, you live in alberta. its not that hard to find cool rocks and driftwood up there. just take a walk through woods that are not protected

to this I have to add a thought, since I am a fellow canadian.

imagine you get busted and are totally now restricted from travelling to the states all because you got a record for stealing rocks.

as a fellow canadian I say shame on you for talking about doing this, I know I would be totally pissed if I saw a person from another country messing with a nature preserve here.

though as I said in my earlier post

do what your conscience will allow you to live with
