I can't understand people that say " mine is working so far, I'll just keep an eye on". ....how stupid someone can be to keep a ticking bomb in their tank just to save 40 $ ?

I've NEVER had issues with Stealths while everyone boast about how good Ebo Jager heaters are, I can say that they are crap to me.

that might be why you had issues.
the thing is, I asked my LFS about stealths and they said two years ago they starting having customers come back with all kinds of problems, all of a sudden. Prior to that, they used to 'push them'. but not anymore.
something changed. I heard it was when they changed manufacture location and thats when all the problems started, but I can't verify.
either way, Ebo (Eheim) Jagers are even better now than they were before. thats still the only brand I trust my fish to.
the people who are long time stealth users likely have purchased their heaters BEFORE all the issues started popping up, before whatever changed for the worse, changed.
so it makes sense there are no issues with the older Stealths.
its the ones purchased in the last two years that seem to have all the trouble.
