Revival. Sorry to hear about that. I did 9 Stealth returns at 3 different Petsmarts, Got cash for all of them. No Muss No Fuss. In and out in 5 minutes each time.

Stealth Pro Heater Recall!!!

I have been talking to a rep from Marinland (United Pet Group) and he has offered a full cash refund
if I produce a printout from my local lfs with their prices other wise it would be 20 bucks for 200 watt,
25 for 250 watt and 30 for 300 watts. So I just went to an lfs I freguent and he printed me out a reciept
for the stealths I have. The rep issued a FedEx tag and they picked them up 3 days ago. Getting 36.99 for
the 200s and 39.99 for the 250s and 42.99 for the 300s. They are supposed to issue me a refund check, so
we will see. All Petsmart and the stores would issue is a store credit.

The manager at the petsmart down from my house acted like a was stealing from him. After I did a bit of negotiation a traded for for a emperor 350, best deal I could get.
i took 3 of my five back today and got the aqueon version the manager told me that if i wanted i could order the eheims online and bring in the receipt and he give the dollar amount back to my card. Since the aqueon are like the old school stealth im hoping it is just as good (fingers crossed)
wow can't believe I miss this thread, I got 2 Pro heater 250w/300w. the 300w blow in my 75g but no damage to the tank or fish. Today the 250w inside my 260g overheating, I set the temp 82f and the thermometer display 86f, I immediately took the heater out and yet its still running. So I google and came through this thread. Going drop by petsmart tomorrow see if they can exchange it for me. too bad I toss the old 300w away

Petsmart gave me cash for even a busted unit....they don't seem to care.
The first manager gave me store credit, but the second trip got me $50+ per heater. I actually made money on the whole ordeal, and ordered some Jagers on Ebay.

I spoke with Dr Fosters and Smith online and am preparing to send my two 300 watt Stealth pros back. Nobody ever gave me a straight answer from either Marineland or DFS if the issue was all of them or just a batch of them.
Never had a problem with my Stealth heaters so I guess it's going to be a precaution.
They are offering me replacement heaters, but options are limited as I want to avoid glass heaters due to my synos burning themselves on them in the past and two were discontinued in the 300 watt size. Looks like the azoo is the only option now.
They are going to give me $25 credit per heater as I bought them when they were on special sale so that's what they'll give me. Which means I'll need to pay extra for the replacement heaters.

goto love my Petsmart, walk in with heater, hand it to the cashier, he was like, you want refund or another heater. I go over heater section and grab fluval M300 and pay $5 different and walk out. Less than 3min, guess they're aware of the recall.
went today w/ a 200 and 2 300 watt stealth. the older ones not the pro. got $125 and some change. all i was asked is if i wanted to get different heaters, i told the guy i already replaced them so i dont need any right now. he said hang on i have to get some more money out of the safe. he helped me at a different register.
my buddy said his stealth has been making sounds lately and it never shows bubbles on the side, so hes taking his 2 in tommarow.
