Hope she recovers soon, prayers are with you.

Did they determine what caused it ?

She has something called Thymoma which is a mass in front of her heart, as well as aplastic anemia and Myasthenia gravis which they say are all somewhat linked togerher/caused by each other. They need to do surgery to remove the mass but they want to get her off the ventilator first before the surgery. So we are having to play the waiting game while they try to get her breathing on her own more. The good news is they finally moved her out of ICU yesterday so that was good, she had been in ICU for over 2 weeks. Just have to wait to see if the meds help her to breath on her own better before they do surgery. I'm not good at waiting, I feel like my life has been "paused" for the past 3 weeks now, just want to get her over this and better again.

Hang in there Steve, one step at a time... Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear, thoughts and prayers for you

Well now today some of the doctors are now talking about wanting to do the surgery to remove the mass as soon as sometime next week. That scares my Sister because she's afraid of surgery, especially with the mass being so close to the heart. I am very glad they are talking about doing it this soon though because the past month has just been so bad with her laying in that bed in limbo with no progress towards getting better. So I think once they do this and get that mass out of her I believe that will be the point when we can start working towards her getting better.

She's got an MRI tomorrow and because of her claustrophobia they have to knock her out for it so I most likely won't be going to see her tomorrow since she's be tied up most the day. So I think I am going to take a mental health day and spend a few hours on the river tomorrow to mend my mind. I don't even care if I catch anything or not, will just be nice to get my mind fixed for a bit while on the water.

They always say you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of someone else. Life is great and at the same time it sucks. I hope for her success.
