Dear all

Many thanks for your concern, much appreciated.
Glad you guys like the pic.:D

As for seprating the rest from the female, It would be a challenge as i keep them in a large pond and i can't tell who pregnant from above.:cry::cry:

anyway, will keep u guys updated.

time for some pond modification then? :naughty:

Tyson here is a little trick that might help, don't just dump your food in the pond straight away, use some kind of gripping tool with food in it to lure the stingrays too the side, they wil eventually swim up the side vertically to get the food. From this angle you have a much better view and can easely see wich ones are pregnant. Especially if you don't let the food go right away, his gives you time for a peek.
The ones that have given birth have a caved in behind, they have most probably been impregnated right after giving birth, remember which one it is and separate it two months later.

Greetings Mark

Man, that's just terrible. Hope all goes well next time.

Hi Tyson,

I would'nt worry about it too much, most likely all pups were dead at the time of birth, this is often the case when prematures are born at the same time. Wether the prematures are the cause of death, or the death of a big pup causes the mother too get rid of everything is unclear.

Better luck next time.

By the way another option is too separate this female in two months time so that there is less chance of complications next time.

Greetings Mark

Hi mark

Thanks for the tip, I have already done so to give them a much needed break.
I notice most premature pups are usually abandon by NEW mothers.
Anyone have that same experiences?

So Sorry buddy.....Hope next time be well. I just loss 3 pups last weeks. Total 6 pups, still alive just 3 pups....The rest was bitten by other rays in the tank. Understand your feeling now.

that really sucks next time should be better
