Lol, sounds like the story of the little girl whose beloved goldfish was found floating belly-up and lifeless in its bowl. The child was inconsolable despite her mother's best efforts, so the mother told her that they would have a nice little funeral ceremony, complete with flowers and candles, to give the pet a proper and dignified send-off. The girl brightened a little bit at this prospect, and began the preparations. A hole was dug in the yard, a tiny casket was prepared, notices were sent to her friends, and the girl and her mother wrote a touching eulogy.
When they went to retrieve the deceased fish, they found it swimming happily in its bowl! The mother said "This is wonderful! Now we won't need to have the funeral!"
The girl nodded, frowned, and then turned to her mother and said "Oh, Mum! Let's kill him!"
But, seriously, the simplest answer is usually the correct one. If a person hasn't been seen recently, the most likely answer is that they simply didn't feel like posting anything.
