I've worked (until recently) at a very large wholesaler/importer of freshwater aquarium fish in the US, and I've never seen these even offered for sale from Asian suppliers. To be honest, I didn't know they existed, but I think if they could do it with the super red severums, oscars wouldn't be impossible.

Are they hybrids or did this color come from select breeding. Nice looking.

ocean aquarium had them over the summer in pleasentville NJ. they looked pretty cool but im not into oscars

Holy Crap. A decent looking oscar. Let me know when they make a blue one then I'll think about getting one.

Ive seen blue oscars at my LFS...it was called Blueberry Oscar. Dont no if it was real or color dyed:screwy:

Blueberry oscars are dyed. The color fades as they age.

Astronotus can only hybridize with other Astronotus so no they are not hybrids.
