sting rays death curl : (

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
UH-OH.. What kind of salt? :(

well if he used table salt im betting its a dead ray by now.

Ive heard of some people using table salt and they didnt die, but its NOT good at all.. BUt with a stress ray, you betcha. :(

oh thank god lol

what exactly ARE your water parameters? what is the ammonia, nitrIte and nitrAte levels? if you are using the strip tests i would bust out another 30 bucks and go get yourself a API freshwater test kit. they are really easy to use and waaaay more accurate than strips. strips give you false readings over time as every time you open it and stick your fingers in to get strips you are contaminating and adding moisture to the strips in it.

get a liquid test kit if you dont have one and test those three things. tell us what they are. and i would wait 48 hrs then do a waterchange.. dont add more salt, its already in there..

DEPENDING on what youre test results are, i would probably change 25 percent.

im going to have to get that liquid test because i dont like using the strips for the reason you said i would probaby get it asap 2marrow and have the results for every one in the evening some stuff on his disc started falling off but as in the pics he has balls of build up on his stinger and back of his discs does the salt make that stuff just fall right off or what?

Ya I been using the liquid test kit for years, its the way to go. Good thing you didnt use table salt, I think you woulda made MFK cry.. Good luck on the ray hope he makes it. Just keep the lights off and listen to these kind people who specialize in rays, not me. ;)
