Just the basics

What size tank do you need for them? If i have aggressive fish will they attack them? What do they eat? How large do they grow?

Thinkin about gettin one when i get a custom tank (11'x2'x2'/329 gal)

Um this thing called the search bar. ur tank is to skinny and you might want to give a actual species to get best answers there are many diferences in ray species

2' is not wide enough for a mature ray. try to go at-least 3' wide

at 3' depth i think you might be able to have motoros or marbled motoros.

Maybe there not for me. I like large aggressive fish. I think itd be a nice addition to a tank but its not worth killing the sting ray and wasting money.

The species' of rays that tend to stay under 18" in diameter are the P. Reticulata, P. Scobina, and true P. Hystrix. Retics are the easiest to find of the three, but they have a much longer tail than the other two, so I also recommend a wider tank than 2'.

I personally think motoros would eventually get too big for that tank....but they would be ok for a while as long as you knew that eventually you would have to get a wider tank for them. IMO they are best suited in a pond of some type.

Aggressive fish will attack anything. If they attack other fish, then they will attack a ray.

There is a lot of good info in this sticky: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2402

There is also a couple of good books that have a lot of info: "Freshwater Stingrays", by Dr. Richard Ross, "Freshwater Stingrays from South America (AQUALOG Special)" by Richard Ross, and "Freshwater Stingray: An In-Depth Survey of These Magnificent Fishes", by Hans Gonnella and Herbert Axelrod. You can get all three on Amazon.com.

What kind of large agressive fish are wanting? Many fish that are evil such as Hydrlycus armatus are just fine with rays...Your tank is still too small though...
