Sorry all its been a little while. The window is fully in and dry. Looks like I got a really good amount of silicone around to keep the water in well enough. Guess we will see. I'm working on plumbing and it's not as simple and straight forward as I might have thought. Also it's a lot of me trying to make things easy to access and work on while plumbing it for the best flow I can as well. Multiple challenges and wants at the same time for everything. Good news is that its moving forward and with trying and dry fitting and playing and thinking on a problem for what sometimes seems like far to long I eventually come up with a solution that fits all of the boxes for what I want. Here are some shots from plumbing trial and error and what and actual getting stuff together. 20171115_121429.jpg 20171115_121416.jpg 20171115_121517.jpg

Here was my first filtration plumbing ideas and setup. I was not sold on it and didn't like that it stuck out a good ways and blocked access and overall ease of work for everything. After long trying multiple setups and different layouts I finally came up with a new idea all the sudden to wrap around and through the valve pipes. Since this is just the backwash drain line it really does not need to be perfect for water flow so make a little sacrifice but overall gain a ton with removing the line in the front looking so ugly. Also the blower setup I didn't like as well with how it was and figured I need a new layout for that. It always seems like such a simple thing till you have to start thinking of all the angles and lengths and perfect cuts you might need. It turned out good so far. not perfect but it should work well and good. Hope you all enjoy filtration like I Do. 61651.jpeg 61873.jpeg 61881.jpeg 20180205_150805.jpg 20180205_152733.jpg 20180205_161341.jpg 62179.jpeg

Looks stellar bro. I love what you did with the wrap around exit lines. Excellent way to save space and keep things clean and tidy. Well done sir

Ain't nothing on you and your work. But thanks. Sure was a something that I wanted to change and make better from the original design. Glad I came up with the idea. Sad it took so long to come up with it but I love it.

Yes it looks great! I don't know what half of it is but cool none the less. It's hard for someone that doesn't use those Ultimas to visualize where it all goes. I guess it'd be like someone with no idea how a sump works seeing a sump and plumbing for the first time.
I can't wait for this to be up and running!

Best way to think of it is like any other canister filter. They have a line that goes into the filter from the tank and a line that goes back to the tank simple enough. But then they have one extra line that is for cleaning the filter / back washing it. The valve is just a fancy way of making all the lines go into a 4 way line and diverting the water in different directions depending on which ones you open and close for water to go in or out or down the drain. If you want to know more or understand it better let me know. I understand it's not for everyone but I still think some of the knowledge gained is good to know. And you never know if someday you might. I didn't think I would 6-7 years ago and didn't put in the learn time then but sure have now as it became more than a friend's idea that seemed crazy and expensive at the time.
