I have fed earth worm pellets same results as live worms

The reason I like pellets is if you go on holiday it's hard to get someone to chop up live worms

But throwing in a handful of pellets is no problem

When headed outta town I chop and freeze daily portions for my sitter. I haven't found decent earthworm sticks that actually have earthworm as main ingredient:/

Call around to bait shops and ask for the price of a flat of crawlers. I pay $60 for approximately 40 dozen. You will also need a bag of peat for changing worm bedding

I bought a 10 inch, 5yr old female ray that only ate a few worms a week for most of her life... in her 55g tank. Now she resides in a 300g, eating a few dozen crawlers weekly, mixed with handfuls of Hiakari sinking Gold and raw market shrimp. Feeding really depends on your wallet size, ability to keep up on water quality, and how happy you like your critters to be. My big female would eat me out of a home if I fed her as much as she wants, yet she lived 5 years on a worm a day...

Did you honestly feed a large female only a worm a day for even a few months time?

Guess I read 55 gallon tank and took you serious on everything. And yes I read but finding all the sarcasm was hard to understand. Sorry

When majority of my rays were pups, night crawlers and black worms were the only thing on the menu twice a day. As they got bigger so did there appetite, worms started getting pricey for the amount they were consuming a week . I worked in raw market shrimp, talapia, silversides, silversides stuffed with pellets, which was what got them on pellets. I'm able to bulk up on talapia and shrimp for the price I was paying for black worms, and also I get a flat of night crawlers from bait store, about $58 for 500. I feed twice a day every other day ,and once in between them. in the morning they get a handfull of pellets ( hikari massivore and carnivore) with 8 chopped crawlers and at night they get a 1/2 talapia fillet, 4 silversides chopped and 8-10 raw shrimp depending on size. The days when I feed once a day they get a lil of everything at mid day. Best thing to look for to know when they had a good amont is a gut that is sticking out like they have a beer belly and there backs are raised.

There was no sarcasm.... let me explain. I bought her when she was 5yrs old. Up until that point she hadn't had the greatest life. Now she is fat and happy. Ya dig? :)
