Monoculus ;)
Just got my new stingray yesterday. He is about 6" in diameter.

The place who had him for a month said he was eating ghost shrimp, and small crayfish. I dumped some of both in the tank today, and noticed he is having a hard time eating them. TBH he seems like a horrible hunter =O. Do stingrays have trouble eating because of their eye placement, and mouths?

I just want to make sure this guy eats. He is def showing an interest in food already though. I can tell he wants to eat the stuff, he is just having a hard time getting it in his mouth.

I purchased some tongs today, but he seems terrified of the things...

mine never had a problem eating them....

maybe the ray is still settling in.... how long has it been

If you can't hand feed him you might wanna try pieces of thawed out frozen shrimp, the kind we would eat from the supermarket. Try a very small piece and make then a little larger till you can figure out what size he can't eat yet. It could be the ghost shrimp are to fast for him?

Only been in tank for 1 day.

He is chasing the stuff. I saw him attack a couple crayfish but he wouldn't eat them was weird. He seems very comfortable in tank though. Very active and also burying himself in sand and hanging out.

I have some frozen shrimp will try some tomorrow.

Id prefer the stingray associate the tongs as food over my hand. Don't feel comfortable hand feeding.
