Stingray having trouble eating ghost shrimp & small crayfish...HELP PLEASE!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Give him some time. Ive seen some new rays take up to a week to even start picking
on food. All you are doing right now is stressing him and fouling your water by letting food sit in there.
Turn lights down or even off for a while.

I've had the lights off since he went in. The food isn't sitting cause the other fish eat it.

Guess ill give him another few days then try some shrimp. I just want to make sure he stays healthy. I heard rays must eat a lot.

Could be stressed from the other fish. Personally I would have put
him in a quarantine setup and made sure he was eating well before
introducing him into an already housed system.

earthworms will be easier for him to catch and eat.

even though he seems comfortable in the tank, it has only been one day. moving a ray from a tank to a bag back to a tank can be very stressfull. give it a couple of days and if he still doesn't eat, offer it earthworms.

try small pices of ham turky. i was messing around one day, by throwing in some random food and taking it out, when i noticed that he like the ham turky. so why don't you give it a try

Did you de-claw the crays? My ray won't eat crays if they have claws on them.

I sure did..

Only reason I'm feeding ghost shrimp & small crayfish is because the place that had him for a month said this is what they fed. He looks very healthy so he was obviously eating it.

Oh well will throw some more crayfish in over the weekend
