try small pices of ham turky. i was messing around one day, by throwing in some random food and taking it out, when i noticed that he like the ham turky. so why don't you give it a try
I really dont think cold cuts are good in a stingray diet...

Only reason I'm feeding ghost shrimp & small crayfish is because the place that had him for a month said this is what they fed. He looks very healthy so he was obviously eating it.

Two other options:
  • They lied to you about what it was eating to make it sound cooler
  • The sales guy didn't have a clue what that one was eating, and made something up to sell an animal.
Crayfish are harder to break apart for small rays. Stick to ghost shrimp, earthworms, chopped clam and krill for pups. A mix of those seems to work best while they are growing up.

Id prefer the stingray associate the tongs as food over my hand. Don't feel comfortable hand feeding.

Yup, same thing for me. The first two days he was swimming away when the tongs were going near. 3rd day onwards, he was staying put and inspecting what was in the end of the tong. Problem is, the other fish that I have in the tank are quite familiar with the tongs also, which presents a cat and mouse game I'm playing with my pond population.

I throw in some pellets and freeze dried blood worms for the koi and ID sharks at the opposite end of the pond and run over to the other end where the ray is. If the CKF is hanging out, I'd have to give him something first for it to go away. The Arowana hangs out there too, I just need to ask it nicely to move over and it usually does if he's not hungry. So I quickly drop in my small fillets in front of the ray and he eats it. It started to eat on the 4th or 5th day with me I think.
