What kind of a stingray are you buying, and how big is your tank ?

Do you know how big they get? 30" without tail. Tho normaly a little smaller, like 26 without tail. So if you dont have something like atleast 8 x 4' then your gonna have a problem, i'd suggest you look for one of the smaller species like Hystrix, or marble motoros.
I would suggest getting some real life experience with rays before you continue posting about them. Every single one of your posts in this area is all based on things you have looked up and zero first hand experience.
An 8'×30"×24" tank is a very nice sized tank to get into ray keeping with. Better then what most people start out with wanting to keep rays. That tank will last a decent amount of time with a motoro or almost any other ray.
I just wanted to help, I've got alot of friends that own rays, and have read alot about them. I've never claimed to be an expert. The tail thing, was based on a scientific study, on stingrays I read, clearly I misunderstood something. The Oscar, thing was based on a friends experience when he tried that combo, as I said. The tank sizes was based on what I was told, when I asked about rays, on this forum
I was under the impression that rataja, wasnt looking to upgrade, and there for IMO any aquarium fish (of course there's exceptions) reaching lenghts of 24 - 30" would outgrow a 30" wide tank. Sent from my ST15i using Tapatalk App
Oscar and rays. And the so called killer male flowerhorn. All in one tank happy as could be. I'm more worried about the stupid brainless Oscar vs the rays.
