definately not a stingray spine

after further conclusion and resizing the pic multiple times i conclude this is a standard 3in roofing nail launched via nail gun through the rist most likely while doing crowning on a standard roof

ive roofed with my father for 3 years and ive ehard many a story of such things where a nail gun is dropped and the spring that holds the safety falls and nails shoot everywhere

deffinately not a stingray spine as well as the fact that no stingray can launch a spine solid through a wrist

There is no reason for a medical related website to lie. Besides this thing in no way looks like a nail.

I disagree, I have seen a military doctor's collection of photos of odd cases and it included a pic of a sr spine imbedded in a mans hip bone. large rays can have spines 6" long and drive them to the base in soft tissue, if the spine passed between the radius and ulna it could do the damage shown. people have died from peritonitis after having their intestines peirced by a sting ray. Some sw sting rays get quite large. The new angle shown in 2nd veiw shows that it is not a nail.

It does not look like a nail to me, either.

However, his hands are awfully dirty for them recently being in water with stingrays..

Did anyone else notice that?

It probably got dirty from the whole ordeal. My guess the story went like this.... Man stick hand in tank, decides to fool around with the ray. ray gets pissed, stings him, man gets shocked reacts and breaks stinger off. Man screaming in pain, runs outside, trips and falls into the dirt, rolling around in pain. Neighbors see man and cal 911 and u can guess the rest.

LOL!

Not to derail but i almost got nailed by a 11 inch Henleii that i got from David. Good thing it decided to hit the bucket that i was holding instead. It happened waay fast.. too fast that i only realized what happened a few seconds after.

Where does it say this was a freshwater sr, or even in a tank? The pics I saw of the injured GI and the recovered spine were taken in Panama, W.coast. Guy stepped on a big one at the beach.
