  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I m excited... When can we c the pictures

There are a few threads in the photo lounge with pics from the weekend.

As for the other stuff, like was posted... really what we learned is that 99% of the rays out there need to be reorganized in better taxonomic form so we really know what is there. Things like 6 different color patterns for an orbig can be confusing.
Threads like "ID this ray" are going to be a hot topic. If pups change patterns as much as is thought in 'hybrids' or they take after the female, you could have what looks like a nice motoro, but really it's a mix. You'd really have to have known parents to ID a captive ray anymore. Shoot, even what I "KNEW" I had for a collection of animasl is now questionable. Other "professionals" found out the same stuff that weekend.

We got a good wake up call to how much is really unknown... but knowing you don't it all is a good first step. The event was open to all ray owners for just that reason. I'll tell you I've drawn a lot of knowledge from guys and gals who keep rays as a hobby and translated it into major displays. I also hope that the info passed out from zoos/aquariums have helped the hobby.

Well said Matt. There is so much to learn about these animals it's amazing.

how long till we can expect a release of the DVD???? was there a time frame given @ the symposium

Not sure that will happen. there was alot of interest last time around but when it came to actually registering and going, there were only a few who went. It was great but not sure those who put it on would do it again. Especially when the economy is down.j
