sorry but i have to disagree with discus stingrays are to active at night just to list one reason. not saying it cant happen just would not recommend it.

ive rread royal plecos are pretty mellow and work and also silver and black aro's

most of those plecos i would not trust.... and with those cats you need to make sure the cats cant eat the rays

Besides silver/black arowanas, I think discus are the safest bet with rays (given the animals are similar in size enough not to easily be made into snacks), although the discus might become expensive snacks (as with any fish that you put with stingrays).

discus only last so long as rays over 8in disc just stress out discus. ive tried and had to move my discus out tank.

ive heard birchirs can bite on a rays disk?
never tried it though..

also because birchirs are slow, they will have to compete for food. as rays are prity qucik to snap everything up.

not a risk i was willing to take...

I have discus in with my rays and so far so good . . .

They dont seem to mind each other at all. And at night the discus sleep in the plants away from where the rays are.
