hi there , i am a few days away from owing my first pair of motoro rays , ive done all the research , setup is fully cycled and heavliy filtered , btw tank size is 180g , soon to 240 or 300

so basically i am asking all rays owners for their acclimation advice , the things that have worked , and things that dont work ?? any secrets or just plain good advice !@!

Not to get on your back, but what is the tank size for them? What is the filtration system? How big are the rays?

Other than that the drip system works wonders with all the rays I've owned and currently own. Just take the water you got them in and siphon some of your tank's water into about 50/50. (My method).
 
drip system to start off with, drip over an hour or 2. ( lot of people will say just siphon some water, some might even say just dump em in)
but i like the drip method to be on the safe side. unless they are comming bagged from a long trip. then you might just want to dose with prime and dump
after in the tank, keep the lights off for the first day or so some say 3 days some say 1, just lets them stay as calm as pssible.
offer whatever food they will eat, if they are comming from a store ask what they are being fed now and keep them fed.(scoop out uneaten food)
just keep them eating keep they water clean and you should be pretty good.
just keep reading, you will keep learning more new things a long time after you think you know it all, trust me.

You could try feeding them with in an hour of acclimating them and see if they eat. If they do then you should be good from there and just maintain and keep the water good and warm.

haha .. ya thanks thought i would toss that in ,

um another question when i do the drip system , what am i dripping tank water into ? might be a stupid question ? but i need to know ..lol

nope i am getting them from a wholesaler , who is a friend of mine and has brought in many rays , and plecos .. but i dont think they will be touching his water , probally straight to mine ..:eek:
 
get ur rays from a local breeder so u dont have to worry about parasites just my 2cents
