Bloodworms on tomorrows list tryed live ones already dont seem to care. Dont get this problem if you keep goldfish lol

What do you mean? you feed the goldfish bloodworms, then feed the goldfish to the ray?

hehe Btw, try ghost shirmp or live river shrimp :D

don't take this the wrong way but your water doesn't look the best

i would be looking at doing 2 x 25% water changes per week until your water looks drinkable

if he is eating frozen prawn i would stop the river shrimp its very addictive and hard to get rays off it when thats the only thing they will eat

blood worm is good to get them feeding then once he/she starts eating the blood worm get a pack of hikari sinking carnivore pellets soak them in the blood worm over night then tip it all in the tank

i myself never use earth worms they are the most addictive live food and if he/she starts eating them you will have a even harder time getting it off the worms than you are having now with the river shrimp

buy the cheap £2 bags of prawn from Iceland i have tried different prawns from different shops and they seam to be the ones rays like most

brake the prawns into 3-4 bits and throw them in frozen rays like the feel of them cold and jump on them faster

good luck

Richard has summed it up perfectly. Just one thing to add. It is aconplete myth that bloodworms are not nutritious. They are are a brilliant food source. There are plenty of scientific papers on the web to prove this. Really good source of iron. Like I have said numerous times I have saved plenty of retics and grown them on, using nothing but bloodworms.
I suspect your ray is looking full because of the shells on the river shrimp . But again like Richard said , they are really addictive and once only eating them it is hard to get rays off them. Just keep trying little bits of other foods mixed in with the bloodworms. Sooner or later the ray will discover it likes other things. Just don't forget it has a very small mouth at this age , so make sure anything you try is cut up small.

I agree with everyone else in here.

LIve worms are very addictive to rays, i know mine loves them, but i do mix up the food, i give him frozen squid (he loves this stuff), also give him frozen bloodworms, jack watley discus food, and also silverides. At first he wouldnt take the silverides too well, so i soaked a few in bloodworms and he ate them quite quickly. I am in the process of getting him on Hikari massivore dlite, (its going to take time with this food, but he is slowly eating them.)

Also, it does look like he is eating, if you look at his tail at the base where his body is, it looks a bit fat, that usually means he is putting on some fat, which is good. Mine has a fat tail at the base and i know he is eating.

Also like has been said, make sure to feed him after the lights go out, they hunt at night. I feed mine mostly at nite and early morning. Sometimes when the light is on, he still eats but is a litter slower getting it when the lights are on.

Hang in there, im sure he will be fine, as long as he eats something every day

When I first got mine I got them eating Blood worms then moved onto raw prawn, clams, smelts and some even eat pellets. I just bought 500 dew worms for $80 from a worm farm and they love the dew worms. Just get it eating blood worms and once its eating good try different things. Keep the lights out, water changes and some salt!
