I don't see a problem with it, stingrays have been used in the motorcycle trade for years. I have a pair of Held racing gloves that are made out of stingray skin.

You'd think that if they really could do that, they'd monopolize on the pet trade, not only shoes....

However, I hadn't heard yet that this is fake. Kind of comforting to know. Think of the genetic data that would need to be lost in order to make the prints. It would be like creating a child with Muscular Distrophy so the skin could be blue. What kind of life is that for a ray, even if the conditions are outstanding?
