Okay, now I know the RIGHT bait to use; anchovies. The locals say stingrays are common around where I go fishing, in fact, I've seen one. Does anybody have pics of stingrays they want to share? You've also got to be careful with their tails, I guess.

we get them alot out here, no pics though.
we actually get together to go sharkin at the local beaches and will get swarmed out by them. big ones too, my biggest is 130# and my dad got one 180#.

Zeppelin 3k, I don't know...I wouldn't eat one. Probably release it back, after taking pics.
Use a circle hook. Rays constantly swim when on the hunt so most likely the ray will pick up the bait, swim off, and the circle hook will set its self in the fish's mouth.
By the way I hear ray tastes like scallops and the meat is ofter sold as scallops illegally.
