Stinky tank!!

Ok I have a 125, mildly stocked with a 55g sump doing aprox 2000gph. No matter what kind of food I feed, Minutes later my tank smells like rotten fish. I've had tanks for 14yrs now and have never experienced this. nitrites,nitrates, ammonia all at 0. I don't overfeed. the tank does not get direct sunlight and only has 20w of LED lighting during the day. Help before my wife kicks me and the tank to the garage

Also, I just did an approximately 120gallon water change.

try running a little carbon? doesn't that get rid of smell?

Ya but I would rather find the problem and fix it.

Make sure there's not a dead fish in your overflow.

Check all your filter really check. Open it all and smell n look canister will store waste n nitrate.

I don't have a canister. No dead fish. It's been doing this since about 2weeks after I stocked it. Everything is clean in the sump. It only does it after feeding and only for about 30minutes to an hour.

Maybe its w bad batch of food? Did you start a new container recently? How is the temp? Higher temps release odors.

But wont baking soda raise the hardness of water?

Also curious how that helps?
