I recently traded in my young aros when they outgrew my tank, and now the top of my 55s looks pitifully empty and sad. I am a little bit picky, but maybe, just maybe some of you can figure out a species that will work for me. I've exhausted my mind trying to come up with ideas lol
* Absolutely positively must be bichir safe. My bichirs are all at least 9'', so the fish can't be too small. I also don't want an overly aggressive fish attacking them.
* Needs to be a top to midlevel swimmer
* I'd like to find something decent in size. Obviously not too small to get eaten, but big enough that I'd only need one or two in the tank. Not looking for a school of fish (like giant danios or fish along those lines).
* Not a JD or Green Terror. I already did my research on cichlids and MEH, don't like them so much.
* Color is cool but not necessary. Obviously bichirs aren't all that eye-catching when it comes to color, so the tank looks a bit drab.
* Think Monster... I don't want something so crazy and rare it'll take a whole paycheck to buy it, but still something cool enough people come over and say "what the HECK is that fish? It's so cool!"
So... what ya got? Promise I'll research all ideas and think them through
