sicklid-holic;623727; said:GT as centerpiece, that means no midas, jags, buttis, trimacs, RD, and any other brutes. or not even Texas cichlids since this fish can just be as mean as any other CA cichlids.
If you want your GT to thrive, get fish that stay in the 6"-8" range and semi aggressive. Like convict cichlid, jewel, frontosas (would be nice), some fancy plecos, loaches.
Goodluck. It would be fun stocking that tank.
I disagree, it all depends on the GT..............My 165 is run by my 5" GT......The tank also has 6" Buttikoferi, (2) 5" RD's, (3) 4" Barred Midas, (1) 5" BD ZZ FlowerHorn, (1) 4" Texas.... All the listed fish are males and although there is the occasional lip locking there is no major fighting. Although this tank is being used as a grow-out the crowding lowers the aggression considerably..... Just try out what you want and if it doesn't work then just thin out the occupants that are causing major issues. GoodLuck....
