I was in petco today and i saw a 29 gallon for about $115 and it came with everything but fish, gravel and water. It came with hood, lighting, filter, heater, etc.

There is a good possibility I am getting it =]

I was thinking of stocking ideas. I was thinking angles but I was not sure. I was not sure what else could go with them.

STOCKING IDEAS PLEASE

::cough, ripoff, cough::

Hit up your local craigslist for great deals. I picked up a 38g with top and lights, substrate, and filter for only $35. I had to build the stand myself, but it was a fun adventure.

[edit] As for angels, they get quite large. Breeders usually keep spawning pairs in 40g breeders...

Im not planning on breeding

BUMP PLEASE

I never liked the sets they always come with the cheapest stuff and they try to make you feel like your getting a deal.

I got a 20 gallon long bare tank for 30 dollars (used to be 40) and I happily stock it with whatever filter/heater, etc I trust.

I'm gonna do exodons, so I suggest them.

Or you could keep a baby serrasalmus piranha for a while in that (if they are legal in your state.)

You can find a better deal on craigslist most the time, check that out before you shell out the big bucks. Can pobably get a much bigger tank for that money (55-75 gal, sometimes more). Only good thing about the petco deal is that you can take it back (usually) if there is a problem.

Couple of angels in a 29 would be ok for a bit, get big though. They will eat neons and such in a small tank. They can be a bit tricky as juvies so if your new to the hobby you might want to pick out something a bit hardier to start with. Suggestion would be a few gouramis (the blue or yellow ones you see at your petco), a school of danios, and a couple chain loaches.

"maybe gouramis,barbs,tetras,danios,pleco,corys. i have these kinds of fish in my 29 and there pretty cool "

I agree with most except the pleco as the common species in most stores will out grow the tank, I also found gouramis to be agresive towards their own kind.
