Of course it will break, everything will break, duh. And aluminum will rust, so that's dumb of him to suggest. I would go with glass or acrylic for the tops.

Aluminum doesnt rust. But a plexi glass top would be good just because it can bend and soften the impact. Just makesure its not so thin i can break though

Im planning to get a tank 6'x2.5'x2' (LXWXH)

Here's the stocking list:
-Silver Arowana 12"
-7" Tiger Oscar
Red Bellied Pacu
Pleco
- Maybe 8" Peacock Bass( I havent bought this guy yet..)
- 6/7" TSN catfish ( this is still not mine yet..)

Well that's all what do you guys think? I wanna make it look as nice as possible.. so here are questions/ideas
1- No hood because i think its ugly... I think I'll use glass sheets that can be locked to cover the tank.
2- The lights im sill not sure... Guys can anyone suggest the cheapest and most effective way to light up a 6 foot long tank? maybe a DIY light that just sits on part of the glass sheet?
3- Filtration- sump or canister? If sump, what is the best size tank to use?
4- Amazon themed- Plan to make a polystyrene tree and roots on the left side of the tank.. the roots serve as hiding places. will post what i drew during class today lol... and planning to use sand and to make it really amazon themed... dried leaves on the bottom.. For using dried leaves what do I have to look for?

Thanks your comments will be much appreciated~ :headbang2
you can get away with the Silver Arowana being in there but that TSN gets over 3 feet long if you get it plan on going alot bigger later or making a pond and the pacu gets over 2 feet and the PB also gets 2 feet long
