This is a horrible picture and I am hijacking your thread, but I hope you won't mind...

Still fighting to get a decent picture... the tank looks nice though... what do you think?

You big thread hijacker:irked:
Only joking:)

If the tank was full of wood like that the pleco idea I think could work and would certainly look more interesting than a 'tank full of marbles'.

Just got to find some wood now, it's not the easiest thing to come by over hear, especially some good root pieces, very rare and expensive, I could alway rig up some sort of diy thing out of a lot of small pieces failing that I remembered this from ages ago:

Yes it does look very nice. Try popping a strobe through the side or aim a very bright flashlight through the side and then you could clean up any flare later in PS CS3. Or if there's no background then just light the wall behind the tank and reshoot with the same setup as you shot this one, but open up .5 & 1 stop.

We have another follower of the photography cult lurking it seems, either that or I.T. word of the day toilet paper
No offense dude;)

Anyway, it's been a while since I had a small tank, the heater in particular was in danger of being added to the garden;)

1. Firstly Lou, no comments on the photography, my globe trekking mother couldn't understand where we could possibly put another tank, so everything was on point and shoot, I know I should hang my head in shame:(

2. No cats/dog were kicked, punched, or shouted at during the construction of the cabinet, I'd locked them all outside

This will be perfect for a pleco tank! :)

Went to our best LFS for wood today, you can get really big bits for around £5, so I thought we'd get a lot of small pieces for around £10, the cheeky 'insert expletive here' wanted to charge me £5 a piece. I'm like 'this huge piece is £5 and you want £5 each for these twigs?' they wouldn't budge so left empty handed:irked:

I really should be adding the substrate to the giant gourami tank and using the water to cycle the new one instead of typing away here whilst enjoying an afternoon beer;)

I guess you will have to try other stores... by the way, what type of wood do you get there? The types with lots of roots like I have? I hope it's not the abstract art type that I see in many tanks on the web... I much prefer going with the natural look - imitating the biotope - as much as possible...

Well, finish your beer and go to work, my friend :) It'll be tough to wash all that gravel thoroughly before putting it in the big tank ;)

Ironically enough that gravel came from that tank so it's pre-washed:D
I agree on the root thing, that's what I'm after it's just a real pain to find over here.

Beer finished, just opened a bottle of wine:eek: I am celebrating after all;)

Listen if you like while I'm here in Sunny Florida, where they have great amounts of natural driftwood ranging from twigs to whole root systems. If you like I'll ship you whatever you like, as long as your paying the Shuttle fees and any purchasing costs. Or I can just go out and get you a few pieces from the local Beaches, State Park, Creek Beds, Channels etc etc. I'm sure it's all better than what they sell there at crater #9.
