Stocking my 125 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this is true. I know i want a pair of severums (definitely not a mating pair) and 4or5 silver dollars, i would like 1or2 of the sajica. so i guess i just need to decide on a "main fish". My thing is though i dont want to start out w/ a bunch of 1.5" fish. I really would like to get these at a decent size, no less than 4"? So i know that will play a key role in what to do for the "main fish" of the tank.

You could always go with something less aggressive, like a bocourti, if you're worried about aggression. I hear that regani are less aggressive than much of the Vieja genus as well, and they are also a very showy, large growing species.

i actually have another ac110. i got both of them on a buy 1 get 1 free deal. I just havent taken the 2nd out of the box yet since the tank is fishless at the moment. i probably should hook the 2nd up though to get the biological chamber going in it

i really like the bocourti. real nice looking fish!

i have actually heard the Xp4s have issues because they used the same size motor and everything as the xp3s just added another chamber so it strains it and breaks, i would def add the extra ac110 since you have it but i only have an Xp3 on my 120g and have had that thing for like 8yrs or more and have never had to replace anything on it, it really like that filter, though i dont have it set up the way they say i have the sponges in the top and bottom canisters and then the entire middle tub and the bottom part of the top on is all bio media. but yeah my argentea is chill but most are very aggressive once older and wont work with severums, you would have a better chance with one of the less aggressive vieja like bifas or something, i personally would do spotted silver dollars (if you can find them) a green sev and a rotkeil, and a big Breidohri (these guys are on my wishlist for when i get another tank haha) and then a little school of pictus cats for the bottom
