Stocking Piranha in a SA Cichlid Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its a bad idea i put one in with mine they will fight my cichlids beat it up and i had to remove it but it had nipped alot of fins

Well I bought two raphael catfish today against my better judgement. I put one in the 90 with the piranha and one in my 30g planted in case it didnt work out so well for the other guy.
I was waiting next to the tank with a net incase they decided to go for him, but at least 3 of them swam up to it, look at it for awhile and then just swam off. So I'm hoping he lasts awhile. I needed something to pick up those leftover bloodworms scattered around the tank.

I You want a fish to keep with the Piranha put "buck tooth tetra" in there . They are agressive and fast and smaller than the Piranha In a 90 toss two or three in there but not too many or the P's may get one OR The buck tooth will eat off the p's scales and stress out the allready skiddish fish ... Also feed a main diet of pellets and once every other week give your self a treet watch them eat what you want IE ham/steek live fish ... These were my P's in this vid .. Now I keep salt but itch for p's still http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LsOHk-DHnsw
The fish with the black spots in this vid are the buck tooth http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skqp1pZG_jw
And this is what you do every other week Not daily or you will not get good growth and your tank will stank and poor water Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXjMZzGqHb8&NR=1

Thanks, and nice videos!
I have thought about exodons a bit, but i really just want something to clean up off the ground. Exodons wouldn't clean up any leftover foods, would they?
