Well frustratingly I've lost 3 so far, all of which were found in the skimmer. I'm not sure if they had died, floated to the top and got sucked in... or got sucked in and subsequently died inside. Either way I've done a DIY job and made the skimmer input holes smaller and had no new fatalities in the past 48 hours.
However with the 5 I have left, 4 are looking fantastically plump and are more adventurous, 1 still has some weight to put on and come out more. What's everyone's opinions... buying more to up my numbers again, or leave it at 5???
I would eventually get more, but wait a bit to see how the rest do. DPs do tend to kill each other off. After about a week without casualties it would probably be safe.
Tank looks great. I would personally just leave the puffers at 5 unless you lose more. The more puffers you have the less baby shrimp will survive. Even things like guppies will eat shrimplets, they are so small when first born. And puffers are designed to crack shells, eat crunchy things. Plus the tank is a tall one, not as much territory as something like a 20 long.
