Strange Cichlid buddy combos?

A cozin of mine just gave me a fish. Or at least said she was giving me a fish. I was told I was getting a convict that was beating up its tank mates (Imagine that?!?!)
When I looked into the bucket I was quite perplexed, the "convict" is a black oscar and it came with a jewel cichlid.
She tells me the jewel cichlid is the only fish the "convict" has never tried to kill.
An African and South American cichlid went together into QT in my basement a week ago. They will get separated after QT, but I only had one QT set up when they arrived as I was only expecting one fish. So far so good.

My Oscar and jag good friends that's the only reason I keep my red Oscar!! They sleep together, they play fight all the time cause if it did get serious the jag would crush the Oscar!!!Pretty entertaining I say, oscar stats 12-14 inchs and jag 17-19inchs!! Not exaggerated!!!
