Strangest fish aquisition

I met a angelfish breeder at a gas station on a highway offramp.Handed him a wad of cash for a cardboard box.Went inside cause my wife was feeding the kids at the subway there.Thats when I realized most of the folks in the store watched the "deal" through the front window.Whole place looked like they were trying to look like they werent looking at me and all had these "should I call a cop" worried expressions on thier faces.So I had mercy on them, and took the bag of fish out of the box and showed it to my wife holing it high so everyone could see.They all looked relieved and went back to thier business.

I once bought a big feeder goldfish for a monitor. The goldfish flopped around in the enclosure and then jumped out onto the floor, where it flopped some more. The monitor didn't seem to want it so I stuck it in a tank and it lived for a long time!

But then an ammonia spike...

At my local Meijer(department store) they had some leopard danios mixed in with zebra danios. I know leopard danios aren't rare, but I've never seen them in any other LFS. The man who waited on me didn't have great sight and couldn't tell which danios were which. After a long time he finially let me have a go at it. Unfortunately, some women, who worked there, came along and took over before I really had a chance. She was terrible with the net. She just started thrashing it through the water, like it was some sort of weapon I wouldn't be surprised if some of the fish in that tank ended up dying. In the end, a total of three employees gathered at the aquariums. My dad was having a good laugh.

I only ended up buying three. I can't guess how long I would have been there if I had asked for more. It was kind of funny how much trouble I caused for $1 a piece fish. I bet they won't be forgeting me

I still have one of the leopard danios(others were eaten). I've seen more leopard danios in their danio tank. Wonder if I should ask for more

at the my lfs...

they had a red terror (festae) that jumped into the tank of the jack dempseys next to them...

the person working knew nothing about fish (from my experience talking to him on numerous ocassions lol) so i told him i wanted the "jack dempsey" in that tank.

he didnt even notice and i ended up getting a festae for 4.99
