satan and anyone who follows him are doomed to the lake of fire. His fate is already sealed.

thought this thread was about cats, and you (not you specifically) turn this to a thread about religion simply because im taking principles from scripture and applying them to the reality of this problem? cmon now. once again read my sig.

Leave it to the God Squad to muck up a thread...any truly intelligent persons knows that it is pointless to have a religious argument because the moment religion comes into it, all rational thought and logical patterns of reasoning are tossed out the window...

In any event, I think that both sides can agree on a few things:

1. People do bad things when money becomes involved, in this case, a $5 per cat bounty.
2. It's bad when people's pets are unfairly targeted.
3. Stray cats are a problem that needs to be dealt with.
4. Cat owners need to take responsibility for their pets and if the stray problem becomes so bad that they can't do it on their own, state and county regulations should be imposed. They do it for dogs that don't even free-roam, so why not for cats as well?

Is there really any more to it than this?

I think the first part is really painting people with a broad brush. It's to general. Sometimes it may be true, but if you say this happens ALL the time, I think that would be a little close-minded.

However, the second part of your post is very accurate. We cant look past what are real problems just because the answers don't make everyone feel good.
