Agreed! I mean if a cat passes through my yard I really have no problem with it, but if it chooses to hang around, mess up the yard and do it's busines in my yard then I definitely have a problem. But that's only the problems I see. I always hear people with cats saying "My cat brought me a bird today that it killed outside" That right there is wrong. Put bells on your cats so it gives the native birds and squirels a chance to get away. Declawing cats is a good thing too!

My brother bought a cat that began as an inside cat but upon moving new a new home with a large lot, he began letting the cat outside where it then decided to make up for 2 years worth of lost hunting. The cat was declawed, collared w/bells, etc...no more problems.

If his neighborhood had a problem with strays, would any of you support the idea of this cat being rounded up with the rest and sent to a shelter?

This "solution" they've imposed is very unfair.

I think if they were to impose something like that they need to first require pet owners to chip their pets first so if by chance they get caught as a stray they can easily be identified when scanned.

BTW when I was having all those cats on my car problem, a friend of mine emailed me this video. I thought it was hilarious. didn't stop my problems but gave me a good laugh.

I'm going on a kitty blasting spree pretty soon. We have ferral cats that live under our deck and they just killed the woodpecker that nested in out backyard. This is the 5th time they've done something like this! Last time the left five baby birds strewn across the bottom deck, most of them had their heads laying a few feet away from their bodies. They didn't even try to eat them, they just killed them for fun! If the black rat snake and our resident hawk don't take care of them, it's Lo Mein Soup time!

I love that video too, Jed! I think the bird one is funnier though.

Now here's a cat that should have a bounty on her head.

Yikes! I guess this just shows the range of things different people think are acceptable. To one, hunting and killing a cat for 5 dollars is cruel; to another, cutting the tips of the cats fingers off so they don't scratch our couch is cruel.

'Declawing' makes the cat ineffective in defending itself or catching food if it were to get outside.

As for the main topic here: Simply neutering/spaying cats works in most places. This is just a case of one town not having its ***t together enough to come up with effective ordinances. If this were a larger problem across America that would be a different story.

They won't take her alive when she's armed with these:
