Stretched ears!

Pain is as much in your mind as anything else...if you think it is going to hurt then it will, if you think it will be pleasureable then the sensation will be more plesant. I like the idea of having a magnet implemented and being able to sense magnetic and electric fields, but I don't know if that would greatly help or cause problems with my working with electronics.

I had my ears 00 a while back, but they had to come out and now have closed up..I want to "redo" them though. Is it tougher to stretch after having them close and a little scar tissue in place?

Yes much harpiercings safe. Think of your skin like 6 strings laid on top of one another and pull 3 away from each side, nice and smooth. Stretching scar tissue would be those strings tied up in knots. It's best to either start at the size you want or similar in size and stretch up, assuming you don't want a huge size. For instance of you wanted 0 you could pierce at a 2, remove some of that scar tissue and stretch one size up so stop bleeding and help the healing process.

Mind over matter. Got it. ....Just a thought, but can I train myself to...not enjoy pain...but to....not mind it? How would I do that?

The thing that freaks me out the most (you know, besides the infections) is the MRI. I don't think it would be fun to have a magnet rip my finger open....lol

I doubt the magnet would be strong enough to actually help or hinder anything you do it electronics. I was looking into a radiology program in school a while back and had to look into whether this magnet would affect CAT scans or MRI machines and I found out that the type of magnets they're using (neodimium i bieve???) would actually affect the scans nor would the machines affect my finger if I went through with this. As far as pain levels go I also think that one of the biggest problems is whenever anyone goes in to get a piercing or a tattoo they sit there and they fret about it for days to come and get themselves all worked up about it. The. When it actually happens the pain is minimal but the brain is convinced it will be excruciating so massive amount of endorphins are released thus creating nausea, panic, tunnel vision, etc.... All you have to do is convince yourself it's not hat bad because in the end it never is.
