Rapheals are very slow growers even giant Ralphs ( megaladoris irwini ) will grow 1\2" a month. Here's a pic of mine I had three that were 18" it took 5 years to grow them that big

lol You just HAD to show me another catfish species I haven't kept yet.....

Is this the same? I think I'm gonna have to get these as "Parachromis Tank Exclusives". I had been wishing there was a bigger version of heavily armored catfish like Raphaels....what's better than Raphaels than GIANT Raphaels???

Yes that's it. Genus got changed years back. Irwinis are just cool so prehistoric looking but so gentle. There built like a tank

All my cats get a mixture of pellets and cut frozen silversides. I mix kens catfish pellets, kens sinking krill pellets, omega one shrimp pellets and hikari sinking carnivore pellets.
that's funny, I couldn't get my Lima Shovelnose to eat anything but earthworms, he ignored a fresh Tilapia fillet several times, then tonight I got ahold of some frozen silversides for the 1st time and his belly is BULGING right now :D Channel cat swallowed a couple whole ones too. Gonna keep these little guys in my fishfood-arsenal from now on :D

like the 5th time I heard someone say silversides this week from totally different places - guess some things are meant to be lol
