Hey I know from first hand experience that is simply not true. The short body look is a gene passed on from the parent or parents and has nothing to do with water quality. I am growing one out now from my parrot and tex pair. Now back to the calico convict talk because I just picked up 5 from my lfs!

Exactly, the shortbody came from the blood parrot. When bred to the texas it happens all the time, i have shortbodies red texas from blood parrot x texas.
Anyway, im looking for some jellybean cichlids that why i brought it up. So does anyone know were i can find some? I may just find a pink convict male and another parrot girl so i can do it from scratch again.
