Here are the pictures of the pink marble that I got from the LFS that I posted about earlier.

It looks male and he does seem to have some faint orange spots that are getting brighter as he gets used to my tank environment. His anal fin shows lots of blue and his caudal fin is clearly red. I am happy with him and he gets along great with all my EBJDs and Gold JDs and Thai Silk Flowerhorn.

thats definitely not a pure convict . now i got to see better pics im convinced its a black belt x convict. witch explain the weird coloring. this is a black belt for referenceView attachment 867094

There's no black belt involved - but the ONLY pure convicts in this whole thread are the black ones (Not the HRP's) and the small female pink marble.
All the others are hybrids.

"pink" is recessive, which means the parents are het for pink.

But, the marble gene seems to be dominant, or sex linked, possibly, since the offspring are not exactly what would be expected if marble was a simple recessive trait. Very interesting thread.

i was talking about krustyart's hybrid being a black belt x convict. both my pair are pure hrps. i asked the lfs i got them from and the guy he got them from bought their parents from rapps.

Yes, now I see the Black Belt in my Convict hybrid. The blue anal fin and red caudal fin are very evident in the Black belt pictures. You have a good eye to catch that. Thanks! I am still looking for a marble or calico Convict or HRP x Convict hybrid female to breed it too if anyone knows of a good one that fits the bill.

That is a male calico Hrp aka Blue calico, there is no black belt in that convict. I think someone did the same pairing i did and produced this animal, He is very nice but the red in his fins are from a Honduran red point.

Dude you are so right about marble/calico gene being dominate because i bred my calico to my HRP and the offspring are all pink or calico and some have blue on there fins. These guys are turning out nice i will post pics soon.

Are you ab-so-freakin'-lutely positive that there is no black belt or convict in my fish? I really don't know what to think of him anymore. He does have a trace of the red iridescence on the belly that female convicts and some males have. Do HRP females have ANY of that red belly? I was told that true HRPs don't get bigger than three inches and this male is already at 4". I was also told that they are much more docile than convicts but this guy dominates the whole tank including a 6 inch female Thai Silk Flowerhorn and all my 3" to 4" Jack Dempseys of various colors. How can I know for certain what he is short of a multi-thousand-dollar DNA assay?

As I said, there is NO black belt involved in that hybrid.
I agree with it being part HRP to give it that coloration. Or possibly even a Sajica.

I dont see any hrp in that fish. Thats why I posted both a hrp and black belt pic. The tail of the black belt is alot like krustyart's con. Ive never ever seen and hrp with a actual red tail. Most have yellowish orange hue to thier fins and tail like the pic I posted.

Im 99.9% positive it has black belt in it. Art make a thread in the hybrid forum and see what the experts say.
