Lol that shortbody gene is not recessive its dominate that why when you offered them i didnt try to buy them. The gene is dominate so if those offspring are regular body they wont produce shortbody because you need a shortbody to make one plus the shortbody gene is made from a parrot x convict cross.

The thread that will never die...

My offer to sell you some pink hets stands. (Siblings to marbles)

Do you honestly know the background of the shortbody parent that these offspring came from and i would like to see pics of your shortbody parent.

First, we are not talking about shortbodies , but marbles.
Second, shortbody is not dominant. The mother of these fry is shortbody, but none of the fry are shortbody.
It's the marble gene that is dominant. He wants het marbles, we never talked about them being het shortbody. As I said, they are pink.
I have posted pics in the past. Myself and many others have stated they are not hybrids. I'm not going to press that issue any longer.
Shipping would probably be about $50 overnight. I have only shipped Priority during warmer months, never in winter, but I do have heat packs.

Hey I know from first hand experience that is simply not true. The short body look is a gene passed on from the parent or parents and has nothing to do with water quality. I am growing one out now from my parrot and tex pair. Now back to the calico convict talk because I just picked up 5 from my lfs!

Pics Crush, Pics!!!!!

Your selling stuff and cant provide pics? bad salesmen. And were not talking about selling fish either but no one is complaining so i will talk about anything that i want as long as its convict related my buddy doom2 doesnt mind. And it doesnt matter what people say about the shortbody not being a hybrid if they dont have the proof, i did the parrot x pink convict pairing so i know what im talking about. No one has giving me proof yet, lets see your shortbody female and i bet you dont know the parents of your shortbody female.

Too much to read over, this thread has run its course.

No clue how the conversation went from Calico Convicts to Jellybean Parrots but just to clarify they are not hybrids. The short body gene seen in Jellybean Parrots as well is in several other species of cichlids (Texas, Green Terror, etc) is a genetic deformity that occurs naturally and has been bred into a line. This is not the result of interbreeding Blood Parrots into the mix, Jellybeans are nothing more than a short body Pink Convict.
