Strongest Rod

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
ugly stick.. no way I have custom's that are unbreakable. plus on the uglysticks most I hear is the guides fall out.

Long Island fishing shops ftw!

I hated my ugly sticks eyes where bad on them. Now I have Daiwa Light and Tough bass rods. I do not think i could break them.

I have a couple of Ugly Stiks that I don't use that often. I don't like the feel of them. I am a big fan of Berkley Lightning rods. I have quite a few of them and they've never let me down.

Wheels Reels makes the Nail. AFAW does make some sick surf blanks though.

I would have to think those new super seekers are pretty strong. Ugly sticks dont break, but i wouldnt say they are the strongest.

I would have to agree with RBE17. If you need something with more sensitivity Berkley lightning rods are great! I think it depends on what your fishing for?

I love ugly sticks because even if you break it you can return it with the warrenty they give you. I bought one from kmart and returned it when I broke the tip off 2 years later, without even having a receipt. They took it ang gave me a brand new one!

yah there warrenty is great, but i customized mine by mixing two rods. Augly stick tip for toughness againts branches and handle from a great rod that tip broke and couldnt be replaced.

Seeker extreme series EX6460XXH-6' 50 (80) 130 with a 37.5 pound lift, probably could handle 45 pounds, but I'm a chicken. Bet no ugly stick could do that. I have seen some lift tests with the new Super Seekers with 65 pounds at the end. Rod is used for East Coast Party Boat tuna/swordfish chunking paired with an Avet pro 50 wide 2 speed

Ugly Stick are poorly made but can stand Lift of a lot of pounds... But you have to think of if this way... It will brake. Keep the rod under that much pressure for an hour and Boom!

I have to go with SHIMANO Clarus Why? You can get a new stick for free every time you end up braking it from doing something stupid :hitting: Or this might be from the fact i live down the block from the place that makes them. Ive gone through 3 in 2 years. Becuz i keep braking the Tip on hiking trip when i slip and fall. I also put alot of trust into SHIMANO gear. Going to trade in all my rod that arnt for them now LW rule

Every rod is breakable and that is why I dont use braid any more.

Ive broken two G-Loomis rods setting the hooks on bass using braid. :irked:

Im rough on my gear and use nothing but cheap rods now cause Im lucky to have one more then a year!
