STUNG BY MY MOTORO!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
another reason i love barebottom...... glad your ok.... and nobody should be putting there hands in your tank to have to worry about getting stung....

Thanks. And yea, again, I know it would never happen, but Im not gonna aruge with my father about it. To be honest, although this is here nore there, hes actually going through a lot right now and I just will do whatever he wants because hes having some problems and I dont want to add to his stress. Hoping to find an MFK member with a suitable home for this ray. Honestly, it might even be better for her, because I cant afford to get a bigger tank for at least 18 months, and having her in the 90 may stress her out when she gets a bit bigger... I will miss her though...

I believe you could put her in a tank later on with smaller Rays. There really isn't an issue as long as she can't fit them in her mouth (very unlikely).

I worry about the liability issue too. My wife is due in a couple of weeks. And while I doubt I would have to worry about the idiot friend getting stung for a few years I am concerned about it. I wonder if they will have a locking hood by then?

Thanks for the info. And I dont know, I just put heavy rocks on top of my hood anyway to keep the aro from jumping out, but yea, unfortunately I am done with rays until I move and get my own monster tank, which iI am really looking forward to.

Very respectable to listen to your parents wishes. Sorry about the pain! What did they do to anesthetize the wound? Local anesthetic? Nerve block? A guy that I work with got stung by a lionfish this week, he said that running it under hot water didn't do anything, plus he got a serious burn on his hand.

You don't want to mess with a Lionfish. Saw a LFS owner, buddy of mine, stung by a death one when he removed it from the tank. Got stab on the tip of the finger, and his arm up to the elbow turned red in less than 2 minutes. His skin around the stung area and at several spots on his hand peeled off a couple days later like burn also. I always thought the same effect if you get stung by a ray, but after seeing the picture, it's more fortunate get stung by a ray than by a Lionfish
