I got a (hopefully) minor sting while clipping a large barb from an 8 inch BD that ships out in the morning. I got the barb out super fast, did not go deep. I sucked blood fast and for a while from my thumb, then ran under cold water, and repeated. After 5-10 minutes of that I used rubbing alcohol. Now feels kind of like a bee/wasp sting, bit of a burning/stinging feeling. Hopefully not too much swelling tonight.

Ouch! Glad to see it wasn't worse but that doesn't look fun. In fact that's precisely the main reason I decided not to get a stingray when considering it several months ago -- I fully know I'm 'weird accident' prone, and it would only be a matter of time until I was stung lol. And knowing my luck I'd probably have some kind of allergic reaction.

Hope it gets better soon!

I was going to suggest the same thing. I’ve heard you should run it under the hottest water you can stand because the heat neutralizes the toxin. I’ve never tried this first-hand though.

This is definitely true, but from what I have heard from 2 guys who have been stung, it doesn't really help much either. Because the hot water (it really has to be as hot as you possibly can stand (which is gonna be painful)) is gonna hurt and if you stop it, then the toxic is gonna hurt like hell. I guess it helps a little but again, from what I've heard not too much either.

How is it looking now, S stratos ?

That’s good news.
Did you taste the venom when you sucked it out?

Also how did the shipment go after it was clipped?

Does that mean the electric eel is out of the question? :)
I got spined by a channel cat less than two inches long, was like a bee sting!
