Add another one to the list. I have a Red Devil F2 that has not even hit an inch yet. He is in with my Convicts I am going to keep him to see what comes of him. I voted you should keep them just to see how they turn out.

Remember these little Grammodes? Hard to believe they're a year and three months old.

I need more tanks. I had to put them in the big tank with the Tigrinus for a short while. Four of them got eaten I guess, but I have three left. They were a pain to catch but I've now put them in the GT's tank. They even grew a little. Maybe they'll actually survive.

This one is the biggest and best looking of the three survivors.
The GT is about 6-6.5" for scale.

Damn this makes me feel a lot better. I have a Mayan who has only grown maybe 3/4 -1" in 2 yrs. He is only about 2-3" and was about 1.5" when I got him. I got him and my texas hybrid at the same time over 2 years ago and in the same time the texas has grown to about 6-7". I have been debating if I should give him up or not. The first Mayan I ever had over 7 yrs ago grew into a beast in 2 yrs.

Mine were stunted but your Mayan sounds like it could be a runt. In every batch of cichlid fry, there will be some that just don't really grow. These are the ones that would naturally die in nature but survive because they're raised in a controlled environment. The breeder should have culled that one but possibly sold the fry before realizing it.

I'm kind of glad some of mine got eaten because two of them were deformed with very long faces and looking strange. Now I don't have to personally cull them, that's a part of the hobby I don't paticularly enjoy.

I mentioned this a while back but I had a tiny Festae that wouldn't grow at all over a year. But as soon as I removed the large male the runt had a tremendous (lol) growth spurt. He was barely over 3 inches for a year. He grew to be about 4" in a few months before his sister decided to kill him.
