I didn't know you were going to transfer him to a 210 shortly. I would try that first. Often more space = less aggression.
yeh i agree with that

sorry:topic: balton how big is that festae???? F0?? hope mine turn out like she has

I have my carpinte in a community 120:
as for the sex of fish i have:
JD breeding pair 7-8"
male salvini-5-6"
female jag-8.5"
F0 female festae 7.5"ish
breeding pair of convicts3"
and the male carpinte6"

ATM he is getting picked on a little, he was added to the tank last week.....wont be long until hes going to start climbing the dominace table, ive seen him fight:) there will be a F0 male green terror gold saum in there soon:)

My tank works fine, no real aggression bar when the JD breed and protect the fry....

Dont get rid of him, hes a brute, look at mojos male http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MGsPn40JIWI

pretty fish guy. im thinking mines not carpinte or carpintis or whatever. with my RD's i keep their teritories facing opposite directions so they attack eachother less unless they're mating then the male sucks up. girls are such sukka's lol :P

what the hell is mine?

Yeah i guess its luck of the draw with these guys. sometimes you find one thats mild-mannered and other times they are little devils!

My last one was a 1" smaller than my JD which ran the tank and he challenged him constantly when he went into breeding mode everyone bowed down. They are pretty aggressive by nature, but some are mild mannered.

hey to you guys with carpintis in community tanks...do they show the normal coloration?? mine first looked like the one posted by Katevo but after i threw him in the 100g hes had some crazy colors, breeding coloration maybe? he's head area is a bluish/white color and the rest of the body is a solid jet black. i cant even see the blue/green spots.

And his color is like this ALL the time now. Do your guys fish do this or do i just have a really pissy fish that needs some anger management classes???!?!?!

Normal color I'd say.
