Chemical cat repellent need to be applied every 1-2 days and don't work well, if they wash into your pond they will kill your fish. If you don't get a dog a legal way of getting the message across is Havahart live traps which can often be rented from your local humane society. Make sure the traps are on your property, post a warning that stray animals will be trapped, and take all you catch to the pound. It is best to post a description of any transported animals at the edge of your property where it can be seen. She will have to go to the trouble of going down and reclaiming them if she wants em back. Most people learn quick, most cats learn even quicker. By the way, I like cats and always have at least one.

dont you think she'll retalliate if you start feeding her cats to your pond? Possibly dumping some toxic chemical into the pond...

edit: oh pound, not pond

Go with a pitbull. My neighborhood is full of old people and crazy cat ladies. I have two pitbulls that are seperated in about 25 x 25 foot pens and the rest of my yard is open. There presence alone seems to keep away cats (there are a ton of them on my street). I have only seen one cat in my yard the entire time I have lived there and once I let my oldest pit out it scared the cat so bad that it never returned. Pits are the most animal aggressive dogs you can find and they are great family dogs. I was raised with a 95 pound pit from when I was a baby. My pitbulls also killed a oppossum when I was letting them rome around the back yard. Do not believe the horror stories. To sum up pitbulls are great dogs for hunting, animal aggressiveness but they are not great guard dogs (for people anyway).

By the way, where the hell are pitbulls illegal? I do not believe there is a breed specific ban in any state.

AAWWW come on let the pussy's play in the pond.... Don't forget to set up the video camera so you can share :hitting:

Hi, you should buy an AMERICAN STANFORD, they are like Pit bull, a little bigger, but not as dangerous towards people. They really like to play with cats... jajajajaja.

They are great companions.

I would get a pit bull also... And do not believe the hype in the media. I have a 4 soon to be 5 year old who ive had since 8 weeks. I will probably never own any other dog breed in my life. He is animal agressive but is great with people and my sisters 2,3 year old kids. He would kill any cat that would come in his yard.

Why not put some arapaima in the pond and let the cat come over and check it out

good ol' american pit

Hey Iguana did you mean an American Staffordshire Terrier? They are similar to pits.. I had to tell my parents thats what mine was so it would ease their minds. They are smaller than pits though not bigger
